The second to last round of the 2015 Queensland Drag Racing Championships were held at the weekend, with more than 100 racers taking to the track on Saturday the 10th of October.

Drawing plenty of attention was thirteen year old Jett Willshire. The year nine Calvary Christian College student took his first ever victory in the Wallace Bishop Loyal Watches Junior Dragster class after earlier taking on his eight year old brother Rustie Willshire – who was enjoying only his second race event.

With the championship speeding towards its conclusion – the final will be held on the 21st of November – there was a lot of intensity on show as the racers sought to ensure they were in the best possible position heading to the final round as possible. One in particular was Josh Fletcher, who moved from second to first in the Donnelly Blasting Services QDRC Outlaws points standings ahead of the final by taking victory on Saturday.

Joining Willshire and Fletcher in accepting winners’ trophies were Paul Pires (Modified Bike), Kellie Kidd (Knijff Earthmoving Modified), Sam Kiprios (QDRC SuperComp), Kerry Boyde (Super Gas), David Morris (Powercruise Super Sedan) and Andrew Stathis (Prime Signs/Speed Elec Super Street).
